Yep, that lineup just doesn't do it for me. How long can BB keep trotting out the same lines, and get the same effect. I really think they need to open up the Parise now. I would prefer to see these lines run out there...
Parise-Staal-Granlund (have to keep Staal/Grannie together)
Zucker-Koivu-Coyle (Coyle/Zucker = best friends = good together)
Mitchell-Cullen-Nino (hustle line that SHOULD score)
Foligno-JEE-Winnik
Suter-Dumba
Brodin-Murphy
Seeler-Prosser
I am doubting that the Wild can or will do much in the playoffs, so I am already looking on how to improve the team for next year. Because looking at the lineup listed above, there is a lot that needs to be change, since Koivu should be a 3rd line C and Cullen on the 4th.
So, move for next year? Trade Spurgeon and Ennis, buyout Foligno. Try to sign Ryan Ellis at around $4mil/year. Find a good #2 C if they don't believe in JEE. And re-sign Zucker and Dumba. |

Yep, agreed Gus. Just nothing about that line up that is intriuging in the least. . There's just no pop in the bottom 6, nor in the bottom 9 for that matter.
JEE has a long long way to go IMO before he's any kind of force on any line, and being stuck on the 4th with guys like Winnik and Foligno he'll not get nearly enough game time scenario's that he can build on to make him a top minute player.
As much as I've loved having Cullen as a member of the Wild, he should have probably went back to Pittsburgh this season for one last run at another cup. He's a polished bottom 6 veteran center that needs to be accompanied by like players in order for him to be successful. Having Ennis as wing mate helps NOBODY on this team, and Coyle is clearly turning out to be a life long bottom 6 guy.
I know everyone loves Nino, but he needs to be dealt this off season.. He's a nice player but he needs to be on a team with more skilled players around him, if he's the best player on his line, he's not going to do much more than 15 - 20 goals a season.
Koivu needs to either be permanantly moved to bottom 6 center or bought out. I've been a huge Koivu guy his entire career, but his time here needs to come to an end.
Whomever the new GM is going to be needs to sit down with Parise and Suter and convince one or both to waive their NMC so that this team can start rebuilding with younger faster talent. |

Looks like Stalock gets the net tonight.
Still not sure if Mitchell draws into the lineup |

Ryan Ellis has one more year on his contract and no one is getting him at 4mil/year. |

Good luck. Even Nashville isn't getting him for that. I'm thinking north of 6-6.5 mil/year

Guess I forgot to add that I was in my dream sequence when I came up with that. |
